Being a learner is learning how to survive,
To take up knowledge and skill someone shows you.
Going from rock bottom to becoming the highest
I am still learning
I am taking baby steps trying to find my path again
We have hope we won’t be in this mess no more
I am a learner, the youngest out of them
I am his granddaughter the one who sadly needs to clean up his mess
Every day is a struggle, every thug, every scar,
I see it every day I wish the whole world was in my hand
This is my world and you’re welcome to see the beginning of my story
The fears I had when I first started with this problem
I tried my best to hold my tears
Beginning to lose them all changed my life around
School work changed
I couldn’t keep up with my grades
My anger, sadness, and happiness got lost into music
I hear, play, and sing to music it’s a beautiful feeling when your fingers touch a piano and play a song
Every good memory comes up when I make something sweet
I take up knowledge I see naturally
I am a learner who is still reaching her goals
When mixing the cake mix and ingredients it looks like an imaginary swirl
A tornado that clears up all the negativity in my life
Smelling the chocolate scent from far away
Carries me into a world where I’m not alone
I have my friends they’re just like me they struggle in schools and gangs
They’re dropouts, students, gang members, drug dealers, and learners.
We’re not originals or are in those types of groups
We talk, act, and dress like them
We know those who are in them
Knowing where we come from and who we are to be is a challenge
I am his granddaughter the next “boss” to be in control
I deny his life style
I want to have my own, a high school graduate
A baker, someone who is still around to live my life to the fullest,
This isn’t the end of my story
It’s still the beginning…

Education not only gets you to live a better life but it also helps you to be enriched with manners. We get the self confidence and socializing skills necessary to speak in public and speak in a way that people not only listen to it but they also think about what we have said and not take your words for granted. We get to know about how to behave in public in different scenarios of life and different situations.

How I Perceive Myself as a Learner

Life as a learner? Hmmm, it’s strange how someone would ask you a question that would leave you speechless for a few moments. When I look at myself in a mirror, I wonder: how do I feel about myself as a learner?
First things first, being a learner means having great responsibilities. Well, one does have to work hard to get through every single day at school, the possibilities are endless. Frankly, I don’t even know how I would classify myself as a learner I am a slacker, enthusiastic or an eager student? But one thing is for sure, learning is something one cannot live without. Learning is what I consider to be my number one priority. It’s an integral part of our lives, so why don’t we study to the fullest?
Now when I observe myself in the mirror, I realize that I am not a slacker,; I love to learn, do my homework, respect my teacher and what not? I may not be creative, so what? I still love to learn. If you think of me as a nerd, I will not mind. Bill Gates did say to respect nerds, for there are chances of one worker under one. If my hobby of learning makes me look dull, I won’t be concerned; for who knows what a mind of a nerd looks like? I must admit though, I will fit perfectly in the category of nerd, but it is quite nice to be one. Being eager to learn is good for oneself, for eagerness of learning is what distinguishes from the illiterate. So what if I am not good looking or athletic (even though they play an important role in our lives). I am happy to say that I love to learn and I believe I would become successful one day. Now is the time for me to put my pen down, put on that, “white-blue” uniform, and wait for the bus to come; which would take me to my school where I would spend half of my day learning something new.

The Media

The media depicts young minorities as bad people. People who are destined for failure throughout life. I personally think that the media has the wrong picture about us young men of color.

Learning is an art

Learning is an art, and you cannot teach an art. We have been studying for many years and have learnt a lot in this span of time but some things are instinctive and they cannot be taught by any teacher from this world.

Knowledge Leads to Power

“learning leads to knowledge, knowledge leads to power, power leads to lightning, lightning leads to be a star ” I think it’s amazing and fun-loving task to be a learner as learning requires no particular age. One can learn through the entire course of life. When we learn something we gain knowledge, add new things, new facts, new meaning to our existing knowledge about the world and things around us. Learning anything spiritually leads to deriving its meaning to the best. And learning is not all about knowledge, yet, it also increases confidence and surety in a person.
One should be a learner and continue to be so. LEARNING can be made more beautiful and long lasting by making imaginary representations or doing things practically. How true it is – “LEARN MORE, SEEK MORE, GAIN MORE and APPLY THE MOST
